No we are not talking about the spiky plant type that you might see out in the Mexican desert!
The Citroen C4 Cactus has made news this week. It has been awarded the top spot by Carbuyer.co.uk in their ‘Best Cars of the Year’ awards. The Citroen model is a pretty sleek looking family car. There’s a real feel of a ‘city’ car mixed in with a family saloon. This model could be a fabulous choice for those who want style as well as all things practical.
The Cactus received and drove away with the prize because it was voted as the best in several categories. Road testers praised the car, it was also revealed as the most frequently searched-for motor on the buyer-focused website.
Although Citroen is a household name when it comes to cars, the Cactus has caught the eye and the imagination of car buyers everywhere. The successful awards ceremony for this Citroen model showed the Cactus also winning ‘Best Economical Car’ too. For those looking for a larger ride, the Grand C4 Picasso won the top award in the ‘Best Seven-Seater car’ category.
Editor of Carbuyer.co.uk Stuart Milne has said: “The quirky Citroen C4 Cactus, with its Airbump side panels, has been set up with comfort in mind and it’s extremely economical with a return of more than 60mpg for the petrol engine. A worthy winner of the Carbuyer Best Car of the Year 2015.”
The Citroen C4 Cactus was already a very poplar car, it has won more than 25 major awards. Citroen are particularly pleased with these latest awards. First of all, having the title of ‘Car of the Year’ as well as ‘Best Economical car’ are both very good titles for any model to have. Especially with carbuyer.co.uk. It’s prizes like these that also allow both experienced and new drivers choose their next car based on performance as well as overall reviews by many. Newspapers, review sites as well as people like Carbuyer offer advice to customers who are actively in the process of looking for a new car.
Along with the Cactus scooping some of the most prestigious, the C4 Picasso was also named as winner for the ‘Best Seven Seater’! Citroen have done really well in the awards, so well that it looks like they are doing something right when it comes to designing their cars! Although the two cars have both deisgn and functional differences, they both have one thing in common, the Picasso and the Catcus are designed as family cars. The awards have shown both of the cars to provide safe and well-considered family transport, something that we like here at Want Driving Lessons!
When choosing a first car, we really recommend taking your time, perhaps seeking the advice of a professional or a trusted family member. It’s all too easy to fall into the trap of buying a car that will end up costing more money to put right.
